This policy explains what personal data Getfund collects through getfund-startup.com, why we collect it, who we share it with and the choices you have. If you have any questions, email hello@getfund-startup.com.
What we collect
We only collect what you choose to send us through our forms:
- Founder applications: your name, email, LinkedIn profile, company name, website, country, stage, the amount you are raising, and the answers you give about your vision, traction, team, use of funds and pitch deck.
- Investor sign-ups: your name, email, how you invest, LinkedIn profile and your investment thesis.
- Newsletter: your email address, first name if you give it, and whether you are a founder or an investor.
Like most websites, our hosting and security providers also process technical data such as your IP address and browser type to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. We do not use advertising or analytics cookies.
How we use it
- To review founder applications, contact shortlisted teams and make investment decisions.
- To match investors with relevant opportunities and keep them updated.
- To send our newsletter to people who have asked for it.
- To send confirmation and follow-up emails about something you submitted.
- To keep the website secure and working.
Our legal basis
We process application and investor data because you have asked us to consider it, which is a step before any agreement with you, and because we have a legitimate interest in running our fund. We send the newsletter with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time using the unsubscribe link in every email.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your data. We use a small number of service providers who process it on our behalf:
- Hostinger hosts this website and stores form submissions.
- Cloudflare delivers the website and protects it from attacks.
- SendFox sends our newsletter and follow-up emails.
With your agreement, we may also introduce shortlisted founders to investors in our network. Some providers may process data outside the UK. Where they do, they rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep it
We keep founder applications and investor details for up to 24 months after our last contact with you, unless we invest or work together, in which case we keep records for as long as the law requires. Newsletter subscribers stay on our list until they unsubscribe.
Your rights
You can ask us to access, correct, delete or export your data, to restrict or object to how we use it, or to withdraw consent. Email hello@getfund-startup.com and we will respond within one month. If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
